Along the Way
Along the Way presents a message that we all need to hear in our world right now. The piece reminds us of the importance of friendships and encouragement throughout life’s journey. Robust lyrical writing is contrasted with contemplative a cappella section. Varied use of compound meter and occasional divisi provides an approachable challenge for any mixed choir. Along the Way is a wonderful addition to any concert or graduation program.

About the Work
I was initially inspired after reading through the writings of the late Fred Rogers. All of us have had family members, teachers, mentors, or friends who have encouraged us, loved us and pushed us to who we aspire to be.
“Along the Way” aims to capture and remind us of these special people in our lives and provides an opportunity for reflection and gratitude for their belief in us. I hope you enjoy singing this piece and sharing its meaningful message!
