O, Come Thou Fount

O, Come Thou Fount seeks to answer the "how" and "why" of making music. Written for the Samford University A Cappella Choir’s 2022 Southern Region ACDA performance, this setting of the original text by Margaret Kirby is a tuneful fanfare that is an exciting and impactful opening statement for any concert!

About the Work

O, Come Thou Fount hopes to answer the "how" and "why" of making music. It is easy to become swept away by the meticulous work of singing and forget the wonder of music, the wonder of one person joining with another in order to create something greater than ourselves. O, Come Thou Fount is a prayer to the God who is love, a prayer that surrenders our singing to the One who longs to bless our creative endeavors, because we ourselves are created masterpieces He calls His own. We hope this song draws you nearer to the heart of Him who first sang you into being.
